To live is to create history.

“Happy people have no history.” -Leo Tolstoy

People who have their biographies written, published and sold over a million copies are those who have a past which they successfully got rid of. They’re born in slums, went to jail, dropped out of high school, abused by a family member, bullied by schoolmates etcetera. People who started out poor ended up on the Forbes list of billionaires after their seemingly endless struggles and failures. No one would read a biography of a straight-A student who scored full marks for his SATs, went to read law at Harvard who then graduated with summa cum laude and went on to rake in his client’s cash as a lawyer. Perfect lives have no historical value.

So, never mind if you failed your favourite subject, your invitation to a date was rejected fifteen times, you’re called for a disciplinary hearing when you’ve never even gotten a demerit, your friends laugh at your hair, or you can’t even afford an alarm clock when everyone else owns a smartphone. It’s perfectly fine.
